Once again on the north coast, we took a ride to Playa Preciosa. I believe it is closer to Río San Juan than Cabrera, but going by car or even gua-gua is easy from Cabrera as well. This beach requires a little hike, but again – it is absolutely worth it! It must be one of the most stunning beaches I’ve ever seen, and we had it all to ourselves for hours. You have to climb down what felt like a small mountain to get to the beach -there is something that resembles a walked down path but it wasn’t very helpful. And getting down with a toddler in our arms wasn’t the easiest, but definitely not too hard. There might be an easier way to get here, but this is the only way I know.
The waves are pretty big here – the North Coast is where you find all the surfers – so just as nearby Playa Grande (which is more touristy, where you also have the option to buy food and beverages by the ocean) actual ocean time for Little A was out of the question. But we loved the scenery and Little A enjoyed playing in the sand. There are no vendors here, which is wonderful, but also requires that you bring your own food and water (always bring water!).
